09 - 09 - Dookie bestaat 5 jaar!

En wie jarig is, geeft een feestje. Dookie doet dat dus ook! En wel 5 keer! Om het vijfjarig bestaan te vieren geeft de band 5 optredens tegen onkosten weg.

Op 9 september 2006 speelde de Beringse Green Day Tributeband voor het eerst. Het zou een éénmalig optreden zijn… maar de kermis in Beringe volgde en in de landelijke coverband wedstrijd ‘The Clash of the Coverbands’ werd de halve finale bereikt. De heren kregen de smaak te pakken en hebben inmiddels dik 70 optredens achter de rug.

Één van de absolute hoogtepunten was het optreden in Fame in Amsterdam. Op uitnodiging van Warner Music Benelux mocht Dookie spelen op de Nederlandse CD-release van Green Day’s laatste album.

Vele memorabele momenten werden beleefd, muziekvrienden werden gemaakt en feestjes werden gebouwd. Dit willen de Beringse heren dus absoluut niet ongemerkt voorbij laten gaan.

03 - 06 - FIRST TOURBUS ROAD TEST

The new engine of our bus hasn't run for years, so a road test was necessary. So yesterday BJ took the bus for driving to his work. Still trucks were overtaking him, but the bus sounded very good.

But by the time he was almost home, the clutch wasn't performing well... Our mechanic Rory had a look at it today. Just a minor issue, so for our next gig our bus will be present too!

02 - 14 - TOURBUS BACK IN BUSINESS

Unfortunately our bus crashed during our trip to Oostburg, last October. The engine had finally lost its soul. Too bad, but hey! No worries! From now on we have a 'new' engine, 10HP more than the previous one.

We'd like to thank Garage Van Heugten for taking this fine assignment. A little bit more work than he anticipated, and glad he finished it, but we can assure him it's for a good cause!!

Rory, thanks a lot again!!

01 - 29 - DOOKIE GOES GERMANY!

Yes indeed, that's correct, Dookie is expanding its borders once more! Gig number 50 will be a German Party! For the first time in Dookies history, we will rock the stage @ our eastern neighbours. Te venue: Spring Break College Punk Party at Luxor in Cologne will take place at March 18th.

And that is AFFENTITTENGEIL! ;)
